Dr. Noisem & Dr. Walker - Liquid Sky Berlin Ambient Session (Live) [self-released lathe cut]
Incoming at the very end of the last year was the "Liquid Sky Berlin Ambient Session (Live)", probably the last ever recorded live session released physically to emerge from the now long defunct Liquid Sky Berlin artist collective. Put out on the circuit independently as a highly limited transparent lathe cut 12" the session in question sees Noize guru Dr. Noisem team up with Dr. Walker of Air Liquide fame for an extended journey into an intense and alienating Cold Ambient drones, a sonic trip into the mind-numbing white-out experience of antarctic blizzards only interrupted by even more unsettling and outerworldly tones resembling the indescript and horrifying proto-communication of humungous creatures from the outerworld before fully turning into percussive, reverberating and metallic Industrial Improv for future sci-fi cults. Furthermore the subsequent flipside tune starts on a rather pulsating level in terms of experimental Deep Listening Music and sees its hypnotic soundwaves accompanied, and later replaced, by near-field recorded metallic grating and the sonic equivalent of sci-fi laser weapons firing energy beams before being buried by heavy Noise build-ups, distorted vocal experiments and electronic feedback buzzes. A collectors item for the advanced listener.
