Andreas Davids - Beautiful Isolation [Inner Demons Records 178]

Andreas Davids is back on the stateside label Inner Demons Records with another hyper-limited CD-r release, put out on the circuit as an edition of staggering 42 hand-numbered copies these days. Solely sporting the well extended title track spanning pretty much exactly 20 minutes of total playtime this brand new piece sees Mr. Davids on a well explorative tip starting from a place of surprisingly gritty and textural Dark Ambient which quickly dissolves into atmospheric and almost glacial Ambient dronings backed by slowly moving, deep and organic bass meanderings later accompanied by ethereal harmonics, glimpses of glistening hopefulness as well as ominous, well unsettling creaks and contrasting sequences of innate melancholia drowned and subdued in the washed out, gaseous blurriness of overall the sonic tapestry. Defo a recommended one for all collectors of strictly limited Deep Listening Music of almost score'esque qualities. Go check!

Andreas Davids - Zukunftsromane [Audiophob Promo]

Another fresh release cooked up by Andreas Davids - also known as the mastermind behind the famed Xotox project - is "Zukunftsromane", a mini-album put out on the digital circuit via the Audiophob label on August 23rd, 2k24. Rolled out over the course of five tracks Andreas Davids explores a score-oriented take on cold sci-fi Ambient introducing dripping alien caves, retrofuturist dronings, robo-mechanical movements and phaser blips in the opening tune "Der Letzte Funke" before progressing into hostile gaseous atmospheres, icey winds and tense repetitive bleeps with "Gravitation" whereas "Zeitsprung" aims at Ambient / ChillOut dancefloors with its airy and bouncy, yet deep Ambient Trance approach backed by a straight 4-2-the-floor rhythm signature. Furthermore "Interstellar" reflects upon subaquatic dronings and whirling, ever meandering filters in a sonic context once often connected with genre epicentres of the 90s like Liquid Sky Cologne / Electro Bunker Cologne and their various offsprings and side projects before "Der Letzte Funke (Leise)" seems to fully focus on what seem to be percussively dripping liquids in an enormously spaceous cavern backed by a quite organic and rather static midrange drone for a closing. Go check.

Andreas Davids & Sven Phalanx - Die Dritte Macht [Infacted Recordings Promo]

Put out on the circuit via the ever active Infacted Recordings label on August 16th, 2k24 is "Die Dritte Macht", the latest collaboration project cooked up by Andreas Davids a.k.a. Xotox and Sven Phalanx. Featuring three variations of the title track plus the additional cut "Am Ende Der Welt" the digital single opens with the original version of "Die Dritte Macht" which brings on apocalyptic, yet Rave-oriented Electro Industrial backed by a Synthwave-infused sci-fi twist and therefore should easily find its way onto the nations - and especially Berlin-based - NeoRave dancefloors whereas "Die Dritte Macht *Slow" rather provides a slightly vintage sounding take on Space Ambient for ChillOut areas of the early 90s. Furthermore "Die Dritte Macht *Extended Version" is - well... - extended and stretches the driving dancefloor experience out a little longer whilst "Das Ende Der Welt" presents a reprise solely focused on the dreamy, airy main melodic motif of the main cut - something we haven't heard in quite a while with the art of the reprise thought to be gone and vanished for more than three decades now. Intredasting.

The full live recording of baze.djunkiii's first appearance at the Groundzero Teknocamp. 100% vinyl as per usual. A little choppy towards the end as there were some technical difficulties during the changeover to the subsequent live act.

baze.djunkiii Charts 10/2k24

01. Tristwch Y Fenywod - Tristwch Y Fenywod [Night School Records 096]
The absolutely mesmerizing debut album by Tristwch Y Fenywod turns out to be a serious candidate for being one of the, if not the, albums of the year 2k24 with its enchanted amalgamation of Welsh RitualFolk as well as subtle infusions of both Goth and echoes of echoes of Industrial influences. Major tunes on here are the ethereal "Blodwyn Gwyrrd", the dreamy and solem "Y Transnewidiad" as well as the unsettling Industrial Folk nightmare vision that is "Gelain Gors". Absolutely essential.

02. Hellfish - Guns Jesus Trucks And Spiderman [Deathchant]
It is... a madness. Gabba Trap for daytime radio abuse, Cut-Up Breakcore, Pop Hardcore and sample collage attacks, TV theme rip-offs and straight forward Ravecore insanity. The most tongue-in-cheek release on the mighty Deathchant label so far and a hard beat driven fuckfest for peaktime Bangface crowds with tunes like "Sushi Rollin" and "We Eat Dogs" being our personal favorites for a reason.

03. Lundin Oil - Exploit Divisions [Northern Electronics 104]
Anthony Linell revives his Lundin Oil alias for a full length album release eight years after its initial longplayer put out on the circuit in 2k16, returning with a highly recommended set of glacial Ambient, subdued and droning mechanical rhythm signatures for icey Electronica sets as well as cold Rhythm Industrial pulses backed by outerworldly sci-fi atmospheres and heavy Noise eruptions for those who know. Excellent.

04. Howie Lee - At The Drolma Wesel-Ling Monastery [Mais Um 060]
Even though rare there are still albums out there which provide a totally new, unexpected and previously unthought of angle on electronic music and this is one of them. On "At The Drolma Wesel-Ling Monastery" Howie Lee pairs the sampled sound of devotional chants of buddhist monks and Chinese classical music with echoes of post-rave atmospheres, various forms of Bassmusic and clearly identifiable influences of Juke x Footwork / 160 to create a highly unique album which could mark the beginning of a new chapter in the Global Bass movement or, in a worst case scenario, vanish into relative obscurity due to a lack of connatural releases out there.
