Bodega - Shiny New Model [What's Your Rupture? Promo]

Set for release via What's Your Rupture? on October 11th, 2k19 is "Shiny New Model", the latest so-called mini album by NYC's latest hype act Bodega. Even though the term mini album seems a little far fetched with the total of seven songs spread out over a little less than 16 minutes only the band outfit seems to have stepped up their game with their first proper studio recording and other experiments soundwise here, catering a mixture of wall of sound-oriented Indie / Alternative, a greyscale attitude borrowed from the nuclear angst-ridden 80s, echoes of Grunge and some SkatePunk as well as quite archetypical 90s American College Rock - think R.E.M. and the likes of for example -, with the 71 seconds long "No Vanguard Revival" coming across like a force to be reckoned with on the dancefloor whilst the dreamy, yet subtly aggressive "Knife On The Platter" could be a song to surely stand the test of time and even grow into a serious underground hit in alternative scenes over the course of the next years as this is a sneaky one - and so is the mechanical killer groove presented in "Domesticated Animal". Short, but good. Check.
