Sascha Müller [Supersix Records 083]

Released only recently on Sascha Müller's very own label Supersix Records is this new untitled twelve track album which, once again, brings forth heaps of electronic music goodness for lovers and followers of the German underground scene. The opener "Der Erste Kontakt" combines hard-banging, uberly compressed bassdrums with a slightly psychedelic AcidTrance vibe, "Der Läufer" combines 4/4 bassdrums and Phonk in a weird antigroove manner before "Der Loop" weighs in some quite unexpected combination of Ambient / ChillOut arrangements and slo-mo Breakbeats just to evoke memories of early 90s acts like The Future Sound Of London and the likes of. With "Der Zentralnervensystemmanipulator" we see Sascha Müller going for a raw, pumping approach towards mechanical, sci-fi oriented LoopTechno, ""Don't Scratch Homie" brings forth a deep, slightly oldskool'ish take on percussive, yet stripped down Techno with elements of abstract DiscoHouse blended and cut into the mix before a lively, uplifting, ever morphing Acid line takes over and "Don't Speak Just Listen" provides more hard banging, yet still psychedelic Trance infusions for those who know. With "Dope Beatz" the Uelsen-based artist delivers a grinding piece of timeless Phonk / Illbient evoking memories of Rob Acid's alltime classic "Schokodreck", "Down On Earth" we're getting deep into beatless DarkTrance territories garnished with beautiful, widescreen Ambient string arrangements and "Dream Scape" pushes forward warm, organic bass morphs alongside ecstatic House stabs and a Breakbeat-driven Techno / Trance vibe for raving crowds all around the globe. Aiming for "Drum Control" Sascha Müller brings on serious fever'ish, Tribal-infused ToolTechno heat, "Drumz And Synth" relives the mid-90s Happy Trance / HardTrance vibe to the fullest and "Dschungelkampf" finally gets into hypnotic, brooding and well-spatial Techno realms before a screaming, uplifting Acid modulation takes dancefloors to new levels of ecstasy for a reason. Great stuff.
