NO MORE - Suicide Commando (Official 1981 Version Video)

Now, 32 years after the initial single release of the uber-stunning "Suicide Commando", NO MORE finally unleash the official video accompanying the original 1981 version of this everlasting song. And guess what? Tina Sanudakura still wears her hair like that on stage.

Reptile Youth - Fear [hfn music Promo]

Soon to come on the digital circuit is the latest - and final - single taken off Reptile Youth's self-titled debut album which is "Fear" - the deepest and most intense declaration of love the album has to offer featuring the most brilliant chorus line ever: "You Are All That I Feel For - Overruling Everything - You Are All That I'm Here For - What Fall Is To Spring" which makes me think of someone special every time I hear this song. Remixes are served by Kasper Bjørke and Broke which are riding the uptempo train with their kinda ravey interpretations whilst Slow Hands come up with a deep, romantic glockenspiel-driven version that will not only loved by the SlowHouse crew but is a perfect tune to fall in love to.

Trentemøller - Live In Copenhagen [In My Room]

Recently released for the iTunes-crowd and only available on the digital circuit is Trentemøllers "Live In Copenhagen" album which is, basicly, the final show of his "Into The Great Wide Yonder" tour recorded and finally re-mastered for home consumption. Captured in Copenhagen, Denmark these previously unveiled recordings showcase not only Trentemøllers musical mastership and his ability to set crowds on fire - yes, you can hear the crowds reaction on this album ! - with a kind of music that is deep, touching and defo hailing from an own, lonely and deserted planet as it absolutely sticks out from any known compository works with contrasting electronic harmonies on top of an experimental, but surely DesertRock-influenced backing, it also emphasizes how much effort and energy was put into the live performance of the original album as each and every song was completely re-written to a certain extent. Although single elements are still there has been a huge refurbishing before Trentemøller took his live partners in crime on stage for first rehearsals, studying the musical magick of moments that is now available for all those who missed this or any other show of Trentemøller & his band. Which are plenty as the mentioned tour took place in front of sold out capacity venues most of the times and although a live recording can never replace the full-on live experience this one is more than a release put on the circuit to please die-hard fans only.

How We All Lie (Mikes Sour Trap Remix)

Mr. Mike Skinner of The Streets and The D.O.T. fame unveiled this sweet piece of sour british Urban Soul less than three hours ago - nicely contrasting the classic BritPop tragedy with sick, devastating basslines, bringing anthemic romance and driving melancholia back to the heart of the dancefloor. Large up!

Cass. - Loops & Farewell Sketches [Shhhh Records 009 Promo]

After a short time out the Mettmann-based Shhhh Records is back on the vinyl circuit with a new full length album that combines tender Armchair Techno in the respect of very early, dreamy Lawrence releases and classic, beatless, multilayered Ambient spheres. Crafted by Osnabrücks Cass. these "Loops & Farewell Sketches" transfer the meaning of introspective into easy to consume electronic floatations that are, by any means, never to be seen as easy listening a sense of meaningless background music as there is way more than just a certain depth to slowly swelling pieces like "Sans Peau" or the unquestionable sonic beauty of "Falmer Sea Piano I" that were all previously self-released by Cass. as limited to 100 CDr edition and are now available as white 180g vinyl pressing again, dedicated to all vinyl loving Ambient / Listening headz out there. Recommended.

01. Young Fathers - Tape One [Anticon]

02. Yvat - Feldspar [Minor Label 028]
You used to dig Autechre but you think their best days are long gone as they've lost their bouncy beats vs. deep strings and nice little melodies path? Went off into deconstruction? I'm totally with you here and that's why I love Yvat's recent "Feldspar EP" on the great Minor Label so much. The man named Octavian Justinian Uta - and which is better known to his parents under this name - brings back this special and long time missed twist again, serving the best Electronica 12" I've come across in ages. Limited to 200 copies in grey-marbled vinyl and hardly available via regular distribution channels. Get your copy, now!

03. Waze & Odyssey - Be Right Here EP [Madtech 009]
Quite a banger on Kerri Chandler's Madtech Records served on a light blue vinyl disc by Waze & Odyssey who are crossing borders between House and Future Garage quite regularly these days. This one's more on a House tip though and especially the A2-tune "Found The Rhythm" with it's oldskool-reminiscing, diva'esque vocal samples and Rave-driven stabs is a high energy weapon that's not to be missed for any reason.  Killer.

04. Sin Fang - Flowers [Morr Music]

05. Mihai Popoviciu - Here [Poker Flat Recordings Promo]

06. Factory Aire - B.O.Y. [Shaddock 006 Whitelabel]
Love ItaloDisco? Then this one is for you as it comes as contemporary, 2013 update of the classic sound bringing you epic synth lines, cute lovable melodies and a retro futuristic feel that cannot be denied. At least this is what the original cut of "B.O.Y." is all about - plus: a whole fucking lot of smiling faces - whilst remixers like Stingray, Atom TM and Auxon explore the musical realms of stripped down, dark'ish HighSpeed Electro with a drexciyan twist, deeper House variations with frolicking, ever modulating basslines and more uplifting TechHouse vs. (Neo)Italo themes. Quite varied, exciting and good for that reason.

07. [Ellum Edits 001]
More Depeche Mode here although this one is surely unofficial. "In Excess" on the flipside is a seductive ElectroHouse / Broken Beat bootleg of a track of unknown origin but "Mode One / Mode Two" on the flip of this red vinyl 12" are taking care of one of the bands most reknowned tunes from their huge "Violator" album named "Policy Of Truth" - one time served as ElectroHouse variation but even more fascinating in "Mode Two"as a stripped down, deep (NuSkool)Breaks Edit. Must have.

08. Vereker - Rosite [L.I.E.S. 019]
The Long Island Electrical Systems-label - or short: L.I.E.S. - goes through a bit of a hype these days albeit I don't see a mandatory development leading to this as the imprint releases 12" taken from all facets of the electronic music spectrum, varying not only in style but also sound quality so there's no given target audience it aims at. And to admit things, until this day I've never been picking up any L.I.E.S. release that got me straight by the balls. But things changed immediately with this one catering raw, unprocessed, analogue and ultra vivid underground Acid and Techno cuts that seem to be taken from a live basement jam directly recorded to a worn out cassette tape, pressed onto vinyl without any additional reprocessing or mastering. Underground as underground can get but without a doubt nothing but a killer jam.

09. Depeche Mode - Heaven [Columbia / Mute]
Although the original single release of "Heaven" as teaser for Depeche Mode's recent "Delta Machine" album was not really convincing the remixes provided here transfer the tune into exciting spheres. Blawan's Dub takes away at least most of the original song and is a standalone piece of kinda dark'ish analogue Techno whilst the so-called Owlle Remix is an excellent example of how electronic SynthPop should sound like, not that bluesy as the "Heaven" radio single but still longing and with an epic 80s attitude that is pretty seductive. The "Steps To Heaven Vox Dub" is a sweet piece of Electronica-driven TripHop with dubby reference points on B1 and the final Instrumental Version provided by Matthew Dear and Audion caters the SlowHouse-/(Neo)Cosmic crowd with a sweet late night groove.

10. Kris Wadsworth - Death [Get Physical Music 216 Whitelabel]
Actually I've never been a big fan of Get Physical Music so this one was quite a surprise, seeing Kris Wadsworth and Jimmy Edgar collaborating on A1 here, coming up with a proper piece of metallic MinimalHouse that reminds me of an era when Minimal still meant stripped down to the bone without any additional surface noise or whatever they add to that these days. Add some driving, intense stabs to that and you get what this tune is about. Whilst A2 is a more pumping piece the B-side unveals a very special twist branching out into raw Jungle / deep GangsterBreaks sketches and classic electroid RoboPhonk. Good one.

When Drugs Go Wrong...

This popped up on a German advisory forum a few years ago and is incredibly funny... although nearly non-translatable without spoiling it all. To give you a clue - it's a taxi driver calling for help, having taken his first ever acid trip just a few hours before his shift starts.

Reptile Youth - Remixed [hfn music Promo]

Due for release in early May via hfn music is the release of Reptile Youth's thirteen track strong remix album simply named "Remixed" including a bundle of reworks by the likes of Peaking Lights, S.C.U.M., Terranova, Mark E and others that have already been featured on the digital single releases accompanying the bands original debut album plus three additional remixes crafted by Berlin's Smash TV, Diana and Antonio Gram which is a well-spoken Danish musician under a new and secret moniker.  As the uplifting and quite ravey versions of the albums latest single "Fear" crafted by Kasper Bjørke and Broke might still be stuck in your eardrums you'll see Smash TV providing a proper TechHouse-tip which peels off most of the original vocals and sounds referring to "Black Swan Born White" only sample-wise, Diana finds it "Easy To Lose Yourself" in trippy DarkJazz-influences and experimentalism whilst the mysterious Antonio Gram serves a playful, moody but still floor rocking variation of the bands most famous "Speeddance" that'll be a huge surprise to all those who've been loving the original Indie Rock anthem.

Introducing: Lisa Morgenstern

Since I'm still quite impressed by Lisa Morgensterns special, nearly symphonic songwriting approach and musical talent I really feel blessed to have experienced on stage last friday when she supported HENKE at Hamburgs Logo club there's more than one reason to introduce Lisa Morgenstern to all readers of these pages. I see a bright future for the unique, ultra-emotional and very heartfelt music of this girl that unveils her inner self on stage, playing the electric piano on top of an expertly crafted electronic backing in which all common knowledge about regular songwriting structures is washed away and replaced by something new, histrionic and previously unheard.

Make sure to check Lisa Morgenstern @ soundcloud to keep updated on her stunning musical vision.
