Goldner Anker - Goldner Anker [SuperKamiokandeDetektor 005 Promo]

Major Label offspring SuperKamiokandeDetektor starts its new year with the release of their cat.no. 005 which is the self-titled debut longplayer of Goldner Anker, a Dresden-based band outfit that made waves in 2010 after releasing a widely appreciated split-7" with DYSE and fuses influences from FunkMetal, Indie and PostPunk, is Pop conscious but still closer to street credibility than to any sales charts, raw and energetic and - most of all - true skool and unique, not only due to their b-movie inspired used of dramatic, dark'ish organs like in "To Blame". If this was a better world a whole lot of todays skate kids would listen to Goldner Anker instead of any Emo bullshit. Slightly 90s, but good.

Tiger Stripes - Glorified [Audiomatique Recordings 047 Promo]

Forthcoming via Audiomatique Recordings is nothing less than a future A-N-T-H-E-M in House music coming straight out of the Sweden-based studio of Tiger Stripes, creating a piece of what might be filed under the flag of Preacher House and that is, hopefully, about to reach a status as classic as old Chicago hymns as "Move Your Body" or "Can You Feel It" in about 20 or 25 years. Built on a solid, thrilling and uplifting foundation of classic House - what else? - the preacher praises the lord which is noone else than JACK and everyone does it. There's no chance not to move your funky little ass when this one blasts through a club P.A. . On the flip Rodriguez Junior serves a smooth remix starting out with a sweet, electroid beat structure and deep, dirty basslines before the seductive and sexual 4/4 starts bumping. This mix is the one to play when the heat is on and ladies on the dancefloor are about to get down for real - I can literally smell the pheromones in the late night air. If you don't love this one you know nothing about the music they call House music.

Michael Kiwanuka - Tell Me a Tale / Home Again [Polydor UK / Communion Promo]

As a prequel for his first and forthcoming album "Home Again" Polydor UK put a 7" single on the promo circuit these days, combining both the title song of Michael Kiwanuka's debut album and the title song of his debut EP that has been released through Communion Records previously, a double A-side to please DJs and lovers of Vintage, the updated neo version of 60s Jazz & Soul with a dusty touch but today's production standards. Especially the nearly psychedelic melancholia of "Tell Me A Tale" is a great one for intimate venues and sweet allnighters attended by musical connaisseurs, the sort of people that follows DJs like Gilles Peterson for more than one reason. "Home Again" on the flip is more on a folky, acoustic tip, melancholic still but rather for campfire sessions than for sweaty dancefloors.

Human Woman - Delusional [HFN Music 010 Promo]

The talent scouts of HFN Music have scouted new talent, this time on the isle of Iceland where they found the pair of Gisli Galdur and Jon Atli Helgason teaming up in the studio under the name of Human Woman, working on a musical retrovision that could easily be played amongst classics like Neneh Cherrys "Money Love", Gary Clails "Human Nature" and even the alltime favorite "Unfinished Sympathy" by Massive Attack just to drop a few names. So this is not your average dancefloor tune or Indie smash but a deep, maybe slightly melancholia infused piece of Pop - yes!!! - music that is about to stand the test of time, that is about to stay. And you can dance to it as well. Remixes are provided by Kasper Bjørke, Zev and Vincenzo, all of them riding a deep, sexy train with their re-fixes, keeping up with the original vibe of "Delusional" and the bpm's low to not disturb the seductive vocals that are for sure the most important part of the magic of "Delusional". Although not mainstream this will - hopefully! - be loved and supported by daytime radio stations. Approved.

Little Brutal Rave Bastards Series Vol. 5 [Little Brutal Rave Bastards Records 005]

That's huge news coming up on a little grey 7" records these days - the "Little Brutal Rave Bastards" are back! Well, it's only one bastard to be honest and his name is Sascha Schierloh a.k.a. Jean Bach working - like here - under different aliases like David Sardelle, Leprozid Pfarrhaus, Bidol Cath and Rgyeue DF, providing some of the most fucked up Experimental / Industrial Techno and Noize tunes that have ever left a german studio within the last ten years. This what the "Little Brutal Rave Bastards Series" is all about since it's first release, a split between Dhyana Records and Intrauterin Recordings in 2000, and this is why fans and mindstrong people love this series. Volume 5 even includes another twisted photo so this one keeps up with the original spirit and sick vibe. We do like!

Sascha Müller & cR-teK - Just Monotron EP [Super 6 Records 072.5]

Sascha Müller comes up with a new collaborational project on his very own Super 6 Records -imprint these days. Alongside cR-teK he serves the "Just Monotron EP", a nine track piece of approx. 29 minutes playtime which will be appreciated by those open for - let's say - abstract experimentations in sound as the main ingredient in this releases are a lot of strange, dry, quirky noises, squeezed through various filters and modulations as if the bunch of two used one little sound machine and tortured it to the max. Weird and more of a technical demo than a real release...

Sascha Müller - Krankenhaus (KUPFER) [SM Traxxx 017]

Sascha Müller, seemingly one of the most productive studio headz ever, comes up with a new sequel of his "Krankenhaus"-series which is named "Kupfer" this time and holds two tracks that have - despite the bassdrums are dry and driving - a rather trancey, hypnotic and even psychedelic aspect to them than focussing on the raw and uncut underground attitude that stuck to previous SM Traxxx-releases. But no matter what - fans of DarkTrance / HypnoTrance will love these, not only for the absence of huge string arrangements and kitsch. Good.

DJ Pablishhh! - The Plates *Remixes [Technoid Records 011 Promo]

More hyper-limited stuff for collectors and lovers of tru skool Techno is brought to you by the Argentina-based label Technoid Records which recently released the remixes for DJ Pablishhh!'s "The Plates" as a limited run of 30 lathe cut 10"es worldwide. Those who've been following these pages for a while will surely recognize DJ Pablishhh! as part of the Super 6 Records-camp as well and it's not a surprise that the labels head honcho Sascha Müller serves a banging, dancefloor destroying rework on the edge of HardAcid and Hardcore with his so-called "Gate To Hell Remix" on B1 whilst the A-side gives room for DJ Pablishhh!'s own "Disaster Remix", a tool'ish straightforward Techno piece for those DJs who love to take a trip to the dark side. HardTechno heads are about to appreciate this rare item as well.

Vincenzo - Whereever I Lay My Head *Remixes [Dessous Recordings 107 Promo]

News are coming from the Dessous Recordings-stable these days which are releasing their cat.no. 107 soon - the long-awaited remixes for Vincenzo's latest full-length album "Wherever I Lay My Head". Three re-fixes are to be found on this one, first of all there's electronic music legend Tom Middleton taking care of "Sometimes Saturday" on A1, serving a sweet, ever floating DeepHouse piece which includes some astounding and pounding drum work that's hardly heard in tracks these days, the swedish Genius Of Time reworking "106 Downtown" on B1 pleasing the rapidly growing Slo-/SnoreHouse posse with not much more than approx.100bpm plus a pinch of Acid feel and finally Mix Newman serving a lively "Dub Remix" of "Hello!", bringing back the Chicago days with nervous, unprocessed hi-hats, tension building up steadily and lovely background chords clearly reminiscing about classic tunes like "French Kiss" and similar. Mic Newman ftw.

Duality - Drc02 [Chillzone Records]

Duality is coming up with a new release on Chillzone Records named "Drc02" these days. Two mixes are to be found on this one - the "Original Mix", a deep, athmospheric and melancholia-driven Electro- / Electronica-hybrid for late night Ambient sessions and the "Orchestrated Version" which is basically the same track accompanied by sweet piano play and scenic string arrangements which are a bit too kitschy for me but will be well appreciated by film music connaisseurs.

Sascha Müller - Pounder [Super 6 Records]

All fans of thrilling Electro and Techno and all record collectors aiming to hunt down the rarest and / or most obscure items in electronic music should watch out for Sascha Müllers latest release on his very own Super 6 Records-imprint as "Pounder" is released as a limited edition of 20 copies lathe cut 8"es, each one stuck in an individual 12" cover which once contained an old german Schlager-/Volksmusik record and now has been recycled and redesigned with a stencil and hand-written track infos. But let's talk music as well - the so-called "Electro Mix" is superb High-Tech Funk surely made to please all followers of the UR-camp whilst the "Technology Mix" on the flip is a dark, hammering variation for illegal basement clubs and truskool Techno venues like the old, original Tresor Club in Berlin. You need this.

Audiolith presents Stiff Little Spinners [Audiolith Promo]

Fresh news are coming from Hamburgs Audiolith-stable and they might be surprising for all those who've only recognized the label for its activity in the sector of so-called ElectroPunk music so far. Now they're aiming towards DJ-culture as well with the launch of their new subsidary series named "Stiff Little Spinners". Volume one of this series features five tracks provided by the likes of Krink, Rampue, Kalipo, Gimmix and Mendoza proving that the label has more to give than massive shout-a-long bangers for leftwing kids and festival attendants. Seemingly Audiolith is able to please club floors, too, which are longing for a sweet mixture of House and TechHouse, nice, melodious and string-loaden build ups and - at least this goes not for all tracks - a decent bit of a (Neo)Trance feel that's able to rock next summers open air floors for sure. Limited to 300 hand-numbered copies, get one quick or you'll be feeling guilty forever. How do you spell N-I-C-E ?

eVADE & Thor - Mrk 1 EP [Super 6 Records 072]

eVADE meets the god of thunder for a collaboration about to be released via Super 6 Records and the result of their meeting in the studio are two tracks. One, the title-giving "Mrk 1" deals with a slightly trancey but still very hypnotic variation of Acid with a mid-90s feel that brings some Goa-/PsyTrance parties back to the surface of remembrance I attended back then whilst "Owt2" is a little more stomping but soundwise as playful and joyful as the title track. No thunder on this one, just sun and fun.

04. Asmus Tietchens / Kouhei Matsunaga [Important Records 334]
Within the last months I recognized an increasing interest in experimental electronic music like Dark-/ DeathAmbient and Drone amongst consumers and so I hope that this one will be appreciated and recognized by not only an audience of specialists and academics. Asmus Tietchens, long-time pioneer in the field of experimentation and sound research, explores quite harmonic and accessible terrain with his tracks here. Whilst "Die kopflosen Frauen von Unger" is a very reduced and positive sounding piece of musical minimalism "Gitter" can be described as a bass-driven, rhythmically pulsating, ever evolving and nearly dancefloor compatible Ambient piece in which the dark bass stands contrapuntally to a light bleep construction that reminds of early Senking-pieces on the long gone Karaoke Kalk-imprint. On the flip Kouhei Matsunaga comes up with two tracks as well - "Margin Sequence #1" is a calm piece of Drone-influenced Ambient with a dark, nearly romantic understanding of beauty whilst "Chasing The Night" is a nervous, alienating and slightly paranoia-causing work illustrating the perpetual work and communication streams of teeming digital ants. Especially the last mentioned track is giving me goosebumps.

05. T99 - Anastasia *Blame Remix [Radar Records 004]
Massive anthem! I loved T99's "Anastasia" when it was released about 20 - !!! - years ago and I'm glad that the trademark rave signals are back to smash dancefloors again although these dancefloors are filled with young Drum'n'Bass heads now and not with early ravers wearing gas masks, hoovers and smiley shirts. No matter what crew is out there on the floor they all will love Blame's tasteful re-fix and its hyper ecstatic feel that is made for peak time abuse only. On the flip Fred V & Grafix take care of CJ Bollands legendary ProtoTrance tune "Camargue" but their re-rub is not half as good or energetic as Blames - not more than a solid tool.

06. DJ Sotofett presenterer Dritfett [Wania 98]
Happy happy joy joy! The norwegian producer DJ Sotofett serves an excellent musical menu consisting of five tracks of nice analogue Techno, Rave and raw 'troity House with a bit of an oldskool feel. Not to be missed!

07. Senking - Tweek [Raster Noton]
I am excited - the first Senking vinyl release in 12 years and as I still love their 1998 released "Senking EP" on Karaoke Kalk to death it was pretty clear I had to check this one out. Their style has clearly changed and evolved but their music is still thrilling - two tense, hyper slow and cold as fuck pieces of bass music that are not less than epic. Hand this one out to 90% of todays Dubstep-producers and they'll clearly recognize that there are still lessons to learn. Instant classic.

08. Egotronic - Macht Keinen Lärm [Audiolith Testpress]
See review for details...

09. Yves De Mey - Counting Triggers [Sandwell District]
These days are good days for lovers of Dark Ambient and related music as there are plenty of interesting releases floating around recently. This time the Techno-related underground imprint Sandwell District leaves dancefloor paths with Yves De Meys excellent album "Counting Triggers", pressed on clear vinyl and coming up with a cold, sci-fi'esque and Industrial- as well as Clicks'n'Cuts-influenced vision of deep space music. Braindance to the melancholia of cosmological radiation!

10. Trentemøller - Reworked / Remixed [In My Room Promo]
