Tiger Stripes - How We Feel [Audiomatique Recordings 042 Promo]

To be put on the circuit recently via Audiomatique Recordings is the labels cat.no. 042, Tiger Stripes three track E.P. named "How We Feel". Tracks to be found on this one are "AH-64" which is a thrilling, dark TechHouse-piece with a quite spooky breakdown, "Back To Detroit City" coming up with classic, uplifting stabs plus decent strings that will be loved by those following the production work of Joris Voorn and the likes of and finally the title track "How We Feel" which is on a similar tip but features even more uplifting vibes and a bit of funky glitz. Defo a good one - worthwhile to be checked out and one to stay in the box for ages.

The Chillzone Trip Vol. 02 [Chillzone Records]

Fresh on the circuit via Chillzone Records is the new compilation "The Chillzone Trip Vol. 02" featuring ten tracks by artists like Kondencoutas Pienas, Hiroshi Yamaoka, Bulbajar and others that have been putting out tunes on the label so far, serving a musical spectrum from Balearic / Lounge to Electronica, Ambient, Deep Listening Music and beyond - music for homelistening pleasure and relaxing inner mind journeys. As all of these tracks have already been featured on the DVD "The Chillzone Video Trip Vol. 1" that has been released by Chillzone Records quite recently there's not much new that could be said on this one but if you're an audiophile with a love for ChillOut-music this one you're about to like.

Dadajugend Polyform - Louis De Marsalle *Special Edition [ADP Records Promo]

Scheduled for february via ADP Records is the long awaited debut-album of Dadajugend Polyform named "Louis De Marsalle", available as eleven tracks album and special edition featuring four additional, formerly unreleased remixes by Plemo, Cut Off Cut Off and others. Mixed by Plemo of Audiolith-fame "Louis De Marsalle" includes minor anthems like "Italic" and the great "Small Town Gossip" that have been tested, proved and loved by their followers throughout several shows since the release of their remix EP "Support Our Loops" in 2009 as well as their well known tune "You Just Got Recorded" taken off the Audiolith-compilation "Doin Our Thing". Overall, the whole album can be described as cross section of their tour program - a melting pot of styles including anthemic ElectroPunk, some (No)Wave, pathetic 80's Stadium Rock and Italo-/Disco-/Dance-influences, all fused and amalgamated with a special twist that, in the end, is the main essence of Dadajugend Polyform: music for those who know.

Roland Appel - Fleurs Du Mal [Poker Flat Recordings 116 Promo]

The next upcoming release on Steve Bug's Poker Flat Recordings is Roland Appel's "Fleurs Du Mal" backed by the B1 track "Black Leather". Whilst the title track can be described as deep, hypnotic TechHouse for late night crowds, creating a tense athmosphere with mystic ethereal choirs and haunting pianos the flipside rides the same train basically but seems to be more active, serving some deep growling basslines, thrilling hi-hats and ever building chords that deliver no relief for the dancefloor crowd. Call "Black Leather" a mover and don't miss out on this one.

Darkness Falls - Darkness Falls [HFN Music 006 Promo]

Forthcoming via HFN Music is the same titled debut release of the new danish duo Darkness Falls that explores musical fields somewhat in between intimate Shoegazer Pop with a touch of desert feel and PostPunk-influenced Indie Rock for those who really know. Although their shoegazing tunes are good but not really outstanding its their vision of Indie that really kicks ass and I'm sure that especially "Hey!" will not leave my box for quite a long time.

Roberto Rodriguez - Manolesque EP [Serenades 001 Promo]

Roberto Rodriguez is about to launch his very own Serenades-imprint these days which is about to kick off with his "Manolesque EP". Two tracks are to be found on this 12" - "Has Been" on the A-side is a very slowed-down piece of House / Beatdown built around some funky repetitive lick and a bit of Disco-feel that will be appreciated by die-hard Edit-lovers but fails to convince through originality. "Like Said" on the flip is more of a club track - a classic piece of glitzy House music featuring moving chords and vocal cuts, good for warm-up sessions but somehow a bit dated, like it has been produced in another era and waited on dusted shelves packed with lost tapes to be put out some day. Not more than an average starter kit for a new label so time will tell if this new imprint is meant to succeed.

Sascha Müller pres. The Chillzone Video Trip Vol. 01 [Chillzone Records]

More visual stuff that has been put on the circuit these days is to be found on the Chillzone Records-release "The Chillzone Video Trip Vol.1" - a collection of thirteen videos provided by and for artists like Hiroshi Yamaoka, Sascha Müller, Duality, C4 and others that cover a musical range from Ambient and Deep Listening Music to Electronica, Balearic and even some heavy Dope Beats. Although not only a few of these videos are not that spectacular from a technical point of view and seem to be either captured landscapes or private family recordings they do accompany the music quite well and create a good allover athmosphere. Picking the best out of these thirteen there are two winners - Duality's "The Wood" and Sascha Müller's "Gefahrenzone", the first for technical excellence and the second for its slightly psyched out visuals.

Sascha Müller pres. 6 In The Video Mix [Super 6 Video 001]

Honestly I'm a bit confused about the first release on the new Super 6 Records-subsidiary Super 6 Video entitled "6 In The Video Mix" which features eleven video cuts of tracks by artists like Toph Subderground, eVade, Duality Micro and others as ten out of these videos have already been included on the compilation "The Best Of Video Releases" - actually the labels cat.no. 050.5 - which has been put on the circuit in spring 2010. The only new cut to be found is Arthur Laber's "Black And White", a Deep Techno piece musically which is defo good but still it's questionable whether it has been necessary to re-compile all these videos for a second time.

[Echo:Mirage] - Sex With Aliens EP [Super 6 Records 059.5]

More news on Super 6 Records are coming from [Echo:Mirage] who are serving their tune "Sex With Aliens" fresh for 2011 - a dark'ish, futuristic piece of classic Electro that will be enjoyed by those following acts like Dynamix II or the raw Electro sound of Motor City Detroit. On remix duties are Alfonso Padilla who's coming up with a 'troity Techno rework that includes some really nerve-racking siren sounds, JGarrett who's interpretation sounds like there's an alien swamp thing making weird noises on top of some 4/4 beats and finally Sascha Müller serving his "Abnorme Sexpraktiken Remix", a cold, percussive and slightly Industrial-influenced rework for dark basements with fog machines and strobe lights - pure Techno.

Antonio Diurno - Algunas Veces EP [Super 6 Records 059]

Antonio Diurno recently released his first EP on Super 6 Records entitled "Algunas Veces EP" which includes three tracks of nice and functional Minimal Techno plus one more uptempo remix by Sascha Müller. My personal favorite on this one is "Hi Gloos!" due to it's reduced, evolving but still acidic feel that is quite similar to the sound labels like Djungle Fever served a few years ago.

eVADE - Emotions [Chillzone Records 019]

eVADE is back for 2011 with two new tracks on Chillzone Records. Whilst "Emotions" can be described as a fusion of Electronica and Deep Ambient Electro that is to be loved by all those who loved the legendary Space Night-show on german TV - video recordings of this show providing an everlasting stream of music and pictures have played an essential role in private chill out session throughout the 90s - "Glass *Silence Mix" goes even further when it comes to deepness and is a classical piece of Ambient music built of warm, slowly evolving strings and some friendly, viscid tones appearing here and there. Pure niceness.

Duality Micro vs. Sascha Müller - DmVsMv 0.1 EP [Super 6 Records 058.5]

Another fresh one on Super 6 Records is the cryptically named "DmVsMv 0.1 EP", a collaborational five track-release by Duality Micro and the labels head honcho Sascha Müller which teamed up to explore a sonic world of lo-fi'ish 8bit bleeps, little cheesy melodies and crushed, distorted drum sets - a fusion for small venues dance floors and experienced crowds consisting of nerdy types and off their head music experts, geeks and programmers, upfront bloggers and all those people. The term Micromusic would well fit when it comes to discussing genres and those who love a proper brain dance are well recommended to check this one out.

Dadajugend Polyform - Legacy

Legacy by Dadajugend Polyform

Dadajugend Polyform just shared this tune via their soundcloud and I presume that this one's gonna be included on their debut album "Louis De Marsalle" that is scheduled for february 18th.

Falk - U.F.O. Trauma EP [Super 6 Records 058]

Fresh via Super 6 Records is Falk's "U.F.O. Trauma EP" serving two alternate versions of the title track that don't differ much from each other plus three additional tunes. All tracks included on this one are somewhat in between Minimal and TechHouse with a quite dreamy edge to it. Epic, sometimes 'troity string arrangements are to be found as well as some dubby influences, creating an intimate overall feel that well suits to be played on small, late night dancefloors with a crowd consisting of deep-in music lovers. Nice, but not necessarily essential.

Sascha Müller - Gefahrenzone [Chillzone Records 018]

More stuff from Sascha Müller is to be found on this one. The title track "Gefahrenzone" is about to please all lovers of slow motion Acid Breaks - those who still remember Fauna Flash's seminal 1996 offering "Please May I Sniff Your Klompen Kloqqen" on Compost Records do know what we're talking here - whilst "Painkiller" is on a deep, acidic tip that could be well described by the mid-90's term Intelligent Techno. Both tunes are top notch for sure, so if you love your electronic music right you're well recommended to add these to your collection.

Sascha Müller - Krankenhaus Yellow [SM Traxxx 004]

Sascha Müller is back on SM Traxxx, providing two new tunes for this worlds advanced dancefloors. Whilst "Krankenhaus Yellow 1" can be filed under the flag of tripped out Hardcore Electro that is to be loved by those also appreciating tunes like I-F's classic "I Do Because I Couldn't Care Less" "Krankenhaus Yellow 2" comes up with a straight banging 4/4, more trippy sounds and some Acid-flavor. Not for those who're tender-hearted.

baze.djunkiii charts 01/2011

01. Didz & Chico - Something New / C.R.S.T. - Roulette [Ten Thousand Yen 004]
More top notch shit from my favorite 10" Future Garage imprint named Ten Thousand Yen. Whilst "Something New" is a fusion of classic UK Garage and Speed Garage featuring sweet vocal snippets and housey chords, C.R.S.T. manages to serve a similar fusion plus bringing influences from the flourishing UK Funky-scene into this mix with his track named "Roulette" which is my personal favorite out of these two.

02. Masayoshi Fujita & Jan Jelinek - Bird, Lake, Objects [Faitiche 003]
Deep Listening Music is the term that somehow describes best what is to be expected from this LP on Jan Jelinek's own Faitiche-imprint. A conceptual release for sure if one likes to refer to the liner notes unvealing insights of the recording process, but also one that can be well appreciated without knowing these details. Recommended to those who love their experimental, score'esque music as well as their so-called Pop Ambient. Somewhat in between, nice, deep and not kitschy at all.

03. Flow - Travel 01 [Shamans Records]
Not too sure how to file this 12" stylewise but I guess that Tribecore might be the term of choice. TribeTekno with an edge of Hardcore, very uptempo compared to other Tribe-releases and each track is fully packed with nice little gimmicks, scratches, samples and other studio wizzardry. Good start for a new label.

04. Langenberg - Planitz Proposals [Mildpitch 008]
It's been a while since Langenberg has been putting out some tracks that really touched me but these three, quality crafted and somewhere in between of chilled, floating but still hypnotic DeepHouse and pumping DubTechno see him back on a level that's top notch.

05. Instra:Mental - Voyeur [Disfigured Dubz 011]
Quite a surprise and not what I'd necessarily expect from a release on Skream's very own Disfigured Dubz-imprint. Instra:mental serving a piece of classic Electro music with dark'ish, psyched-out vocals that can easily stand up to classics like Anthony Rother's "Red Light District" or other tunes of that era. Not too sure whether the Dubstep-audience can handle this tune but for all those who love the cold, sci-fi sound of proper Electro "Voyeur" is quite a must have. To be found on the flip there's a Dubstep-tune named "Like A Bird" by Von D's Riskotheque which is just not my style but Instra:mental's tune alone is worth purchasing this 12".

06. Ethiopian Modern Instrumentals Hits [Amha Records / L'Arome Productions]
Originally released in 2003 on the french re-issue label L'Arome Productions, specialised in Ethio Jazz and Brazilian music, "Ethiopian Modern Instrumentals Hits" has been repressed in late 2010 and showcases 10 tracks of Ethiopian Jazz recorded from 1969 to 1972. Eight out of these ten tracks have either be written or arranged by Mulatu Astatke, one of the most influential musicians hailing from Ethiopia.

07. Kenny Dope presents The Bucketheads - The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind) [Decks Classix 005]
Without a doubt this is one of the classic tracks a whole generation of clubbers danced their asses off to, a true anthem based upon samples taken from Chicago's "Street Player" and for sure a big success for Mr. Kenny Dope. For some reason I never got hold of an original copy back then and so I'm happy to add this re-issue to my collection which I'll include into future sets quite regularly as I really love this tune not only for being nostalgic.
