Splitting From Rudel Records

It's been in 2006 that baze.djunkiii was teaming up with DJ Da Cut / Maya Princess to be part and partner of her label Rudel Records - a label meant to spread, share and realise a non-mainstream and non-streamlined vision of Drum'n'Bass- / Breakbeat- and HipHop-related streetwise music. Now, after nearly three years and only two releases it's time to announce that baze.djunkiii is splitting from the label again. Rudel Records will be run single-handedly by DJ Da Cut / Maya Princess in the future. No bad vibes are involved in the split and there's a good chance for shared projects or productions somewhen but living in different cities now and several other projects eating up quantums of time on each side of the partnership make it different to progress the way we meant to especially as our former main act C-Flow seems to have lost direction a while ago and there wasn't enough time left for us to deliver enough of our own productions for a regular output. The Rudel Records-website will still be used as platform for news on DJ Da Cut / Maya Princess doings which are plenty, so check out the page on a regular basis.

Sascha Müller - 5 min. Acid Warning *The Remixes Vol. 03 [Säurebad Records]

Fresh on Säurebad Records is the third issue of remixes for Sascha Müller's "5 min. Acid Warning", this time provided by the likes of Neurov and NOX taking care of "Part 04" and "Part 02" on this release. While Neurov delivers a groovy rework that gives enough for the 303 to fully unfold it is NOX' part to serve on the more hectic, short-looped side of things, playing around with pitch shift and cuts and coming up with a ruff, analogue sounding piece of MonoAcid that'll be appreciated by all oldskoolers out there. Nice.

[Naked:Audio II] - Frequencydrive [Super Six Goodies 053]

New on Super 6 Goodies is "Frequencydrive" out of the studios of an artist named [Naked:Audio II] that provides four tracks plus two additional remixes of deep, pumping and partly psychedelic Techno that will keep the crowd moving on a late night level. The Calorifer Is Very Hot - rewind.

Just one day back from our Plutonium Pogo-tour the circuit got me back on monday night as it was time to set up a show for the italian band The Calorifer Is Very Hot @ Meaniebar / Hamburg, friends of Honeyheads who've been joining my night @ Meaniebar twice and played to a packed place so I felt like owing them a favour and book their italin buddies, too, which were stopping by due to the release of their newest 7". Having played in Hamburg two times within 4 days already I was a little doubtful about how many ppl would show up as mondays are tricky and - gotta admit - I felt a little wasted still from being on the road. Anyway, I arrived at 20oo and expected Micha of Molotow to be there already to check out the bands mixdown. He wasn't but what I found was a massive backline sitting in front of Meaniebar next to Nico of Honeyheads and a locked door. Hmpf. As I found out l8r Micha mixed dates up and thought the band are to play on tuesday but we managed to set everything up, the band using their backline only for instruments and a small six channel mixer for vocals through the bars P.A. . In the meantime another surprise came up as The Calorifer Is Very Hot had met an american band the day before and wanted them to play as well. Had to deny that as I never heard them or of them before and wasn't willing to book someone that short-termed on trust and it seemed like a few ppl were worried but this is how goes it. Not long until the place was pretty packed and them italian guys played a proper show, had good fun and sold a bit of merchandising stuff as well. Shortly after the concert had finished the police were showing up as one of the neighbours had been complaining about noise, maybe the drum set, but living in St.Pauli area and complaints are a bit weirdo imho. I guess the coppers thought the same and went off peacefully.

Now, writing this, I sit in the chill basement of Otaku Records waiting for a friend to drop by for a coffee and feeling tired still. But there's only a few hours til I'll be on the decks again...

Thursday, 9th.

Dropping in at about 14.30 at the Audiolith office where Dadajugend Polyform are about to arrive at 15.15 to be in time for an on air interview at Byte.FM-studios at 16.00 . Bad news on the phone as the boys are stuck in a heavy traffic jam somewhere around Hannover and announce to arrive later. Finally another phone call - they haven't moved for about an hour and won't make it so the interview has to be cancelled. Fuck. In the meantime some hard rain is coming down so expectations for the night lower, especially as The Gossip are playing a show near Molotow tonight which is about to attract a part of our target group. Postpone soundcheck to 19oo and when Dadajugend Polyform rush in at the office after a ten hours journey they're wasted and it's about 19.30 so we're in a hurry. Doors open in time but due to shitty weather and Gossip show there are not that many people showing up as we hoped to. Hmpf.


Friday, 10th.

Before going on the road just a short stop by at Otaku Records to check some new tunes. Purchasing the re-issue of DMX Krew's "Come To Me" on Permanent Vacation which I still can't get out of my head, then I'm back at the office waiting for Saskia to arrive from Korbach as she'll be our driver for the next days. Heavy rain again on our way to Kiel where we're meant to play at Alte Meierei which is a nice squatted place with a proper and friendly crew able to work very professionally which is not necessarily granted playing in places like this. PA is loud and heavy although with a few feedback problems, Das Audiolith plays a nice warm-up set to a mixed punk'ish and alternative audience, Dadajugend Polyform performing their best show in these three days and later on I'm killing a mad crowd with a mixture of NuSkoolBreaks, RaveTechno, IndieElectro and some ElectroHouse. Absolutely bonkers - rewinds, mad scratches, cutting in samples and other turntable trickery. Totally appreciated by the crowd which was still wanting more when they had to turn the music off at 04oo due to squat rules. Ppl living there need sleep. Understood. Off to bed for a few hours, but couldn't sleep for a while coze Holger of Dadajugend Polyform is snoring like a madman and I'm really afraid of him suffocating right next to me.


Saturday, 11th.

Up at 09oo again coze Das Audiolith has to be in Hamburg at 11oo to hop on the bus with Clickclickdecker to play bass when they're performing at La Pampa Festival the same day. Back to mine after that, shower, some sleep, showing Saskia around town and breakfast at Pauli Pizza before picking up Krink who's joining the crew for the last gig at Lüneburg's Asta Wohnzimmer. This place is tiny, very tiny and super hot when filled with people, but before this happened a lot of technically unexplainable shit occurred that no-one ever heard of - including weird feedbacks, trouble of getting a stereo signal out of a simple turntable (even after we changed the mixer), skipping needles and even weirder digitally crushed signals when I was taking over from Krink after his rocking set somewhen late in the night. Btw - my warm up set included a range from Cosmic Disco to old Breakdance Records to DMX Krew and some House. Did some scratching as well and even scratched, sampled and cutted spontaneously to Dadajugend Polyform's final track. Madness.


Basicly this is what u have to know about our first Plutonium Pogo-tour if u missed it, we'll be back and on the road soon so watch this space or our official website for news and info.
