Tracklist:

1. Tokenizer 1,2
2. Multithreatening
3. Drag & Rock
4. Cargo Boss 2

Originally released on Hamburg's Hidden Rooms-imprint this was the first release of Hamburg-based Techno artist Rotor, which is now releasing under the name of Rotorik on labels like Mutter, Neue Heimat and others apart from producing EBM under his T-E-T / Travailleur En Trance moniker. Check out his early experiments on technoid minimalism via iTunes

Parts in the post, pt. 38

Sascha Müller vs. Nightnoise's "North West Alliance E.P. Vol. 2" is cat.no. 015 of Super Six, a nice three-tracker for the fans of the more tool'ish & monotonous side of Techno music. Not exactly stuff to listen to in yr armchair at home but fodder for DJ's playing primetime sets.

Cat.no. 020 of Pharmacom Records is an Evade 3" CD entitled "live Recording 13/04/2006" including a approx. 22 minutes set performed that date at Cologne Campus Radio, a nice trip into the spheres of deep listening, Ambient-flavored sounds, chilled Electronics and kinda oldskool'ish Intelligent Techno-stuff. As this style is likely to be en vogue again - think of classic represses around these days of artists like B12 or Global Communication - "live Recording 13/04/2006" is about to gain popularity in this specific scene, although due to it's limitation to at least 100 copies worldwide it'll be hard for interested people to get hold of a copy. Check that.

Neo Cortex, the collaboration project of DJ Gollum & DJ Yanny, are about to release the new single "I Want You" via Figure Eight Music / PIAS on august 11th. Expect a full-on commercial Vocaltrance / Hardstyle tune which might gain some mainstream success as well. File under: Retro as this is so 1996 and it seems like nothing's about to change in this specific scene. Do we still need that?

Armand Van Helden's "MyMyMy" is to be re-released via Southern Fried Recordings / PIAS featuring additional vocals by Tara McDonald and new remixes by Stonebridge and Funktuary. As nearly everything touched by Mr. Van Helden this one is about to rock every House-flavored dancefloor from deepest underground venues to big commercial clubs with it's catchy hook and sing-a-long vocals. Nice.

Longplay love 27.0

It's been 23 years since Heiko Maile, Marcus Meyn and Oliver Kreyssig founded Camouflage and 19 since their first big hit "The Great Commandment" hit Top 1 of the Billboard Dance Charts, a milestone not only for the band itself but also a breakthrough for the whole SynthPop-movement back then. It's 2006 now and Camouflage are still in business and about to release their 7th full length album on August, 18th on Synthetic Symphony / SPV under the name of "Relocated" which once again is filled with the fragile innocent beauty that inhered in each and every of their songs from day one accompanied by caressing minor chords and epic but never crammed arrangements, no matter if it comes to dancey tunes or ballads. So there's nothing new in the Camouflage-universe but isn't this what we all love them guys for - for being an absolute term in the ever changing world of Pop music's one hit wonders and casting bands? Recommended.

"Extended Electronics Vol.1 " is the name of a brand new 2CD-compilation that has just been released on Zoomica / SPV which, apart from providing a nice overview of the recent Electro / Wave / EBM-scene whilst featuring acts like Funker Vogt, Das Ich, Covenant, Rotersand, Die Krupps ft. Douglas McCarthy, VNV Nation and others, delivers a little extra to all them collectors and fans out there as the name "Extended" suggests. Long versions - so-called "extendeds" and special remixes - are served here, none of them shorter than five minutes plus special liner notes for each and every of the 24 tracks included. Musicwise "Extended Electronics Vol. 1" covers the full range from more Pop-orientated Wave vs. Trance crossover tunes to stomping EBM / Industrial-workouts - to cut it short: everything that moves the scenes dancefloors is to be found here, expertly selected and chosen carefully.

Frontline Assembly's new album "Artificial Soldier" has been released via Metropolis Records on June 23rd. For this piece of art Bill Leeb and his comrades Rhys Fulber and Chris Peterson joined forces with the new member Jeremy Inkel plus recruited Covenant's Eskil Simonsson as well as Jean-Luc Meyer of Front 242-fame for guest appearances. Pounding Breakbeats, apocalyptic noises and armageddon athmospheres, Leeb's processed voice dealing with dark and brutal matters - all the ingredients the Industrial-scene loves Frontline Assembly for are served in perfection, ready to mash up dancefloors and parties worldwide, cementing FLA's pioneering status which they occupy since Leeb formed the band in 1986 after he broke away from Skinny Puppy. Defo an album to check out - no matter if you're a FLA-fan from scratch or new to the world of Industrial music. My personal fav: Track 6 - "Dopamine".

Longplay love 26.0

Cat.No. 011 of Super Six Goodies is BinauralBeatsProjec't's new album "Inparanormal Sys". Stuck between deep, 'troit-ish Techno, Electro and TechnoJazz in a sense of early Steve Stoll- or Cari Lekebusch-productions all ten tracks to be found here are excellent and the whole thing is a nice journey for advanced dancefloors as well as homelistening affairs. Recommended to all lovers of what has been called Intelligent Techno in the mid 90's this is defo worth checking it out and and maybe on of the best releases of Super Six so far.

Mr B.'s "Tripped" is the recent release of Pharmacom Records, which holds cat.no. 019 of the labels back catalogue. 16 tracks to be found here, about three quarters of them dealing with Downbeat / ChillOut kinda style whilst the rest is Drum'n'Bass-flavored but still on the listening-orientated side of things, sometimes even providing a more Balearic attitude. Top shot out of all 16 is "Feel It" which provides a nice & warm Downtempo trip into melancholia.

July 21st sees the release of Emmanuel Santorrana's new album "Fab 4 Ever" on Pschent, which pays - as the one might already get from the albums name - tribute to Liverpool's most famous Pop group. To be honest, I've never been into The Beatles and never will be, but what Santorrana provides here is not just a bunch of cheap covers - it's completely new songs. Yes, he uses the same lyrics but builds a nice'n'smooth mixture of live feel and Downbeat meets Pop-attitude around 'em so that one might take 'em for his very own compositions instead of tributes. The use of different vocalists as Sebastien Fauvel, Nadeah Muranda, Marie Payen and others adds even more variety and extra spice to the whole project so the result is at least an interesting and diverse Pop-flavored album. So don't be discouraged by that "tribute to The Beatles"-thingy as at some point you even might not recognize that Fab 4-stuff is involved here.
